# Incipor

> Incipor is a professional authoring app for macOS for writing novels, screenplays, and non-fiction. It combines chapter and scene structure, Fountain screenplay formatting, character tracking, and export to EPUB, PDF, and Apple Books in a single focused writing environment.

Incipor is in active development and will be distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store. The app is local-first: manuscripts are stored on the user's Mac and are never transmitted to our servers.

## Positioning

Incipor competes with Scrivener, Final Draft, and Ulysses — not with general-purpose AI writing tools. In a world of generated content, Incipor positions AI as a craft tool, not a creator: smart tools handle structural and editorial work so the writer can focus on what only a human can do, which is tell the story.
